During the holiday break, Southgate Towers implemented a huge upgrade to the Internet service. Southgate Towers is now on FIBER and each apartment home has been given a dedicated connection with up to 10 MB of service. Please reset your router for updated service to your home.
You will also have the option to upgrade your package to one that is burstable up to 40-60 Mb. More information will be forthcoming. This new service will be managed by Net Pro Services and will require you to register your devices online. This is also a big upgrade as you will now have access to and entire team of IT service engineers to assist you. You will be receiving information regarding registration and upgrading ability.
To use the Internet, you may either:
A) Plug your desktop or laptop computer directly into your wall jack using a Cat5 Patch Cable: Plug one end of the cable into the wall jack and the other end into your computer. You are now connected to the Internet!
B) Plug your own personal wireless router into your wall jack using a Cat5 Patch Cable: Plug one end of the cable into the wall jack and the other end into the “Internet” or “WAN” port on the router. You are now connected to the Internet!
To connect additional devices use the “LAN” ports and additional Cat5 Patch Cables.
If you choose to use option B to enable wireless Internet in your home, we highly recommend that you secure your network by using a password or secure key, following the manufacturer’s directions. This will protect your privacy as well as your Internet speed by not allowing unauthorized access.
